First Things First and a tiny little rant

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

I have been slacking for a few weeks but am back to link up for First Things First today!

First thing you would do/buy if you won the lottery
Absolutely pay off Ross and my student loans, credit cards and car loans.  We have lots of debt which makes wedding planning pretty painful.  I also would put a ton of money in savings and take a really relaxing vacation/honeymoon together.
First person you call when you get amazing news
Ross and then my mom & dad, of course!
First thing you do when you've had a bad day
Pour a cocktail and put on sweatpants!!  A cocktail and the couch always make me feel better.  And catching up on my blogs helps to distract me from whatever made my day bad!

There is something that is bugging me today and I just need to get it off my chest and then be done with it.  Do you know those people that as much as you try to have a relationship with them it seems like they are making absolutely no effort?  Typically I would say 'Well, screw them!  Move on!'...but in this particular situation I am forced to make the relationship work.  But as much as I try, this person just will not reciprocate.  And it makes me really angry.  And hurt.  And frustrated.  Why do some people have to be such pains in the ass?  Every time this person comes into town it feels worse than the last time...like instead of making progress we are just taking huge steps backwards.  I believe that this person should want to get to know me and have a relationship with me, but apparently they don't feel the same way.  I probably shouldn't say stuff like this on my public blog, but today I am really over it and just have to get it off my chest.  And you guys are the ones who get to listen to me :)  Okay, end of my tiny rant.

  1. Been there, felt that! I think it's a girl thing...eventually you just get over and make friend with people who are kind and real. :)

  2. Yuck, that sucks! Especially if you are forced to have contact with this person. Whoever they are, they probably have their own silly reasons for having a wall up against you. I hope one day they come around, but until then, their loss!

  4. YES...cocktail and sweats...PERFECT!

In regards to your rant - rant on! I know how you feel and it is so frustrating. I've had a few of these circumstances and I've said good riddance. In the end it is sad, but not worth the time, effort and heartbreak!

  5. I have been struggling with the exact same thing lately both with my friends and my brother in law. My hubs is so forgiving, but I'm like...it's a two way street. Friendship takes interest in both sides. There's only so many times we can invite your brother to dinner or drinks before I get tired of asking. Sooo I completely understand what you're going through!

  6. Glad to see you posting again!

I hear ya on the whole non-reciprocated forced relationship thing! It is most definitely a two-way street, and some people are just too full of themselves to make any sort of relationship work. Keep doing what is right, and things will work out.
