Honeymoon Help!

Thursday, April 18, 2013

This afternoon I am presenting you guys with a question...where should Ross and I go for our honeymoon?!  I would love some suggestions from you wonderful ladies.

Ross and I have both never left the country! (Canada doesn't count..duh)  We want to go on a relaxing but adventurous trip...however we do not have a huge budget.  Since we are paying for a large majority of our wedding we have to be smart about what we spend...especially on a honeymoon!

  1. You guys should fly down to FL and take a cruise at one of the cruise ports to the Bahamas! It's relatively cheap and they have excursions on the ship so they organize all of that for you so you can relax and not worry about having to plan! All the food is included on the ship and the only thing you'll have to pay for is the alcohol :)

  2. I agree, a cruise is an excellent idea! I just went on one and was at a 6 person dinner table and 2 of the guests were a newlywed couple. They had lots of meet and greets for newlyweds. You can also get a table by yourself. We did the all inclusive drink package if you like your cocktails this is the way to go. The food was phenomenal and there was something for everyone!
We went on Royal Caribbean, I would highly recommend it!

Second from that Jamaica has a ton of all inclusive resorts which are on the nicer side for a cheap budget!! I'm going to one in April and will report back on how it was
    :)

    Take care!

  3. Yeh cruises are a good option for a budget, but just remember that you do have to pay for excursions (activities at each port) and those can get expensive. What about an all-inclusive resort, most islands have those and the price includes everything!
Also, checkout vacations offered on groupon or sites like that. They always seem to have amazing deals and I'd assume it's legit considering I haven't heard of any issues and tons of people by them!

  4. we did all inclusive to Cancun. there's so many resorts there that the prices are really competitive so you can get an awesome vacation for a low price. all inclusive is perfect for a honey moon. you don't have to worry about anything

  5. I've never been on a cruise, but I can't imagine being on your honeymoon with that many other people!

I bet you could find a pretty decently priced all inclusive resort in Mexico or the Carribean (maybe one with no kids allowed!)!!

  6. We did the all inclusive Sandal resort in Ocho Rios Jamaica. I wouldn't reccommend it. I felt like I should be there on a mission trip instead of being there to relax on a honeymoon. There were pitiful children all up and down the sides of the road selling potatoes. There were police officers with AK47s on every street corner. Obviously, the resort part was nice, but you had to drive through the bad parts when coming from the airport and to do any excursions. Also, the beach at the resort was TINY! My SIL went to the 7 Mile Beach Sandals resort in Jamaica and loved it, so I'm sure it just depends on what resort and what part off the island you're on.

  7. I know the Sandals and Beaches resorts have a wedding registry that you can sign up for and your guests and buy you excursions (horseback riding or ziplining) or private dinners on the beach (since all food & drinks are included) or even just send money to your room and you get to decide what to do with it... I think that's what we're going to do :) I wonder if some cruise lines offer that as well?

  8. Check groupon/living social!

They always have the BEST all inclusive resorts for the best deals!

    :)

  9. LivingSocial and Groupon have great travel deals often. All inclusives are worth their weight in gold...even if you get the cheapest room, the experience is worth it and having it all paid ahead is great. We went to a couples resort in Jamaica and want to go back so bad! (couples.com)

    Congrats!
