Best Concerts (of my life..)

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

I am somewhat of a concert junkie...or groupie...whatever you want to call it.  In my 26 years of living, I have been to over 150 concerts.  I would consider myself absolutely obsessed dedicated to concert viewing.

In honor of seeing Dave Matthews tomorrow, I have put together a list of some of the best shows I've ever seen and also a Bucket List of concerts that I want to see in the future.

1. Dave Matthews Band @ Fenway Park

Really..every Dave concert is the best.  I have lost track of how many times I've seen them, but every time is better than the last.  And the few times at Fenway were just perfection.  There is seriously nothing better.

2. James Taylor at Tanglewood

I've seen James Taylor in concert over 60 times...and he always brings it!  I have listened to him since I was a baby, he is just magical.  Every summer growing up and until I moved to CA, I went to see him perform at Tanglewood...a gorgeous outdoor concert venue in the Berkshires of Massachusetts.  I also had the opportunity to meet him at the Today Show back in 2007...one of the best days of my life!  Can't wait to see him next summer :)

3. John Mayer

I am seeing my sixth John show in September..and yeaaaa you probably all think he's a douche, but he is amazing in concert!  I have never been disapointed by one of his shows and am very excited about this next one.  He is also touring with Phillip Phillips which gives him HUGE bonus points.

4. Red Hot Chili Peppers

Old school...but amazing.  I have seen them twice and both times was an epic party.

5. Radiohead

Total sensory overload!  Radiohead is an absolute classic band and are mind blowing in concert.  Something everyone should get the chance to experience in their life.

6.  Elton John & Paul McCartney

I think this tour was back in '01 or '02...but I got the opportunity to go and jumped at it!  I mean...who wouldn't want to see two legends on the stage together?  It was amazing..despite our nosebleed seats.  Definitely one of those memories I'll never forget.

1. U2

U2 is definitely at the top of my bucket list.  I missed them when they came to SLC two years ago and was devastated by it.  I will die a happy lady if I accomplish getting to one of their shows.

2.  Justin Timberlake

I didn't get a chance to snag JT and Jay-Z tickets this year, which was a depressing moment for me.  But I absolutely want to see him at somepoint in the future.  It's a MUST.

3.  Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland might possibly be the most amazing thing I have ever heard of.  I secretly am hating on Helene right now as she packs up her neon and gets ready to jet set to Europe this week.  Ross and I are tossing this around as a honeymoon idea...because we would be those newlyweds who go to Tomorrowland for our honeymoon.

So there you have it folks...my musical obsessions all narrowed down to one little bloggy post.  There are tons and tons of other concerts that probably could make my "Best Ever" list...but I am tired and can't remember every show I've seen.  Oh..Coldplay..I forgot them.  See?

  2. RHCP is definitely on my wish list! The best concert I've ever been to was Summer Sanitarium in 2003. I was only 13 but it was hands down the single most amazing concert experience of my life. One of my best friends is the little sister of Kirk Hammett so we got VIP/backstage access and it was unbelievable. But if I could see RHCP before I die, that would be fantastic.
