Greek Confessions

Friday, May 3, 2013

Happy Friday!  Today is my last Friday of work for the summer..but probably my busiest, since Tuesday is the "big day"...aka graduation, or you know...just that 8,000 person event that I am solely in charge of.  No big deal.  Oh wait...I am basically shitting my pants over it.  But it's all goooood.

Last night something happened that is really bothering me.  My alma mater, Babson College, decided that they are suspending Fall Recruitment and bringing in a "task force" to determine if Greek Life should be allowed to remain on campus anymore.  For those of you who are Greek...you get the severity of this.  For those who aren't..you might find this post pretty boring and confusing.

I am a Chi Omega.  Not was...am.  Chi O is for life, not just the four years that you spend in college.  Going Greek was absolutely one the most important and the best decisions I have ever made.  My Chi O sisters are really that...my sisters.  They will be both in and at my wedding and are my family.  Taking that experience away from future undergraduates truly saddens me.  I know that I would not be the person I am today if it wasn't for Chi Omega and the relationships I built and things I learned.  It makes me so sad to think of the community that I love going away.  I seriously believe that almost everything I learned in college was because of my sisters in Chi O.  I hope that the administration at Babson realizes the huge mistake they are making.

Better pump some tunes to cheer me up!  And you can't tell me you don't loveeee this tune.

  1. Aww! All these pictures took me back! I'm a Delta Zeta alum and could spend hours going through all the photos :)

  2. I was never in a sorority in college (I was a transfer student my junior year so it would have been kinda awkward rushing then) but I kinda wish I had been! It looks like so much fun and everyone I know who has been in one has loved it. :)
