Why I Missed Blogging

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

Exactly six months ago, I packed up my life in South Carolina, moved to Boston and shut City Sequins down.  And you know what...I needed the past six months.  My life has been chaotic and my schedule never stops, and because of that I just haven't had the time to dedicate to blogging.  Then all of a sudden a few weeks ago I felt a strong desire to blog.  I came home one day and said, I miss blogging.  It came creeping back into me...and I haven't been able to shake it.

After dinner tonight, Ross and I sat down to watch TV and all of a sudden I asked him if we could talk about blogging.  I just needed to get some things off of my chest...how much I miss it, how sad I am that I let my blog and blogger friends become neglected, how much I wish I was back totally engulfed in my blog like I was six months ago.

I started blogging because I needed an outlet, somewhere to be creative and just talk...about nothing and anything at the same time.  I quickly found that blogging made me happy, it became a part of my every day life and something that just felt normal.  But now, after leaving it for so long, I don't know where to start again.  And I really miss my little part of the internet, my public journal that brought me inspiration and comfort.  I miss the relationships with the amazing ladies that I have met because of it, the conversations with women half way across the country that feel like friends I have known my entire life.  I miss the inspiration that I get from the amazing outfits, recipes, decor and stories from my favorite blogs and women.  I just missed it, every part of it, more and more every day.

I have some exciting things coming up in my life and I am planning some big changes for this little blog.  I hope to be inspired again and speak from my heart, which is why I started this in the first place.  I don't know where I will be in six months, 12 months or a few years...but for today, right now, I want to be here.  And hopefully next year at Blogcation I will have a blog that I am still proud of and that makes me feel good, like it has since the start.

Here's to a new beginning!

  1. Sometimes we need a little break, but I am so glad you are back.
Blogging brings such a sense of "self" that is so different from any other feeling.
It's a place to be open, honest, and just feel free.
As well as make awesome friendships!

I am happy you are back doing what you love, and I am excited to be following along again:)
